FEES AND
PAYMENT: We provide quality family medical care at reasonable
price. We are able to do this only because we keep our expenses low.
One main way we do this is by accepting payment in full at the time of
service--cash, check, credit or debt card. We DO NOT accept insurance,
Medicare or Medicaid at this time. We DO NOT do monthly billing. See
prices and
ideals for more information.

OFFICE
VISITS, MISSED APPOINTMENTS: We schedule each visit for 25 minutes to
allow maximum time with our patients. We use a scheduling approach unlike
other offices in that we leave a lot of openings in our schedule for
"same-day" appointments. However, to keep things in order, we
kindly ask that if something comes up and you can not make to your appointment
please call us to let us know as soon as possible. We will do our best to
remind you of your appointment by phone or e-mail.
Multiple missed
appointments will result in dismissal from our care.
HOME OR WORKPLACE VISIT: Yep, we
do them. We schedule these first thing in am (8am), around lunch
(12pm) and at the end of the day (around 6PM). Do to time concerns,
these visit may require next day appointments. Payment is expected at time
of service.

PHONE CALLS: We pride ourselves on being available for our
patients. However, sometimes we may be unable to answer the phone because
we are with a patient, talking with someone or are out of this office. We
check out e-mail and messages often and will call you back as soon as
possible. Our full-time patients (those who pay yearly access fee) will
have other alternative means to contact us as well.

AFTER-HOURS CARE: Our ideal is to provide up to date medical care
the way it used to be. Dr. Purcell wants to be your doctor all the time,
not just from 8 to 5, Monday through Friday. To do this, we plan to keep
our total number of patients small (too many patients leads to too little time),
allow same day appointments (so we can see those who are sick NOW), and give
each patient plenty of time to see us. Now, even still, we do not live in
Eden anymore and bad things happen. So, we will be here. We can
arrange to see you at our office after-hours for an
additional
fee to the regular office charges. And even then, it will be cheaper,
faster, and more personal than an urgent care or the ER.
Please remember, some medical concerns are true emergencies and need to be
handled in an ER setting. If we advise you call 911 or go to the ER, we do
so because we believe that is the best medical option. Also, remember Dr.
Purcell has a family, too and mutual respect goes a long way for both
relationships. So, use your best judgment when calling after-hours: if it
can wait until tomorrow, then let it.
There may be times when Dr. Purcell is away on vacation or business. We
will make every effort to make patients aware of this time. Even while
away, messages and e-mails will be checked several times daily to handle any
concerns. Also, a local physician will be available if any patients need
to be seen before we return.
REFILLS AND PAIN MEDICATIONS: We are happy to call in refills of
current medications during business hours for our full-time
patients. We ask that you give us 24 hours notice before you need the
refills. Please do not call after-hours or on the weekend for refills.
If a patients calls or e-mails with a new problem, which requires a new
prescription be called in, appropriate fees may apply.
Under NO circumstances will pain medications be called in
after-hours. Short-term pain medications will be given only after a face
to face consultation. Conditions requiring further use of medications for
pain may require referral to pain specialists.
